With SCIM provisioning, Entra ID creates, updates and deactivates Clearooms users for you. New starters appear with the right details, and leavers lose access.

Changes follow Microsoft's sync cycle of roughly 40 minutes, and you can trigger a manual sync when you need someone set up straight away.

Security your IT team will approve

Staff sign in through Microsoft using SAML-based single sign-on, with your MFA and access policies, so Clearooms never handles their Microsoft password.

Clearooms is Cyber Essentials Plus certified and an accredited supplier on the UK Government's G-Cloud framework.

Your questions, answered.

  • Is Azure AD the same as Microsoft Entra ID?

    Yes. Microsoft renamed Azure Active Directory to Microsoft Entra ID in 2023. Clearooms works with it whichever name you use.

  • Does Microsoft single sign-on cost extra?

    No. SSO and SCIM are included on every Clearooms plan. Many alternatives sell single sign-on as a paid add-on or keep it for their top tier.

  • Can staff use their Microsoft 365 login to book hot desks?

    Yes. Staff sign in with the same Microsoft 365 account they use for Outlook and Teams, then book hot desks, meeting rooms and parking straight away.

  • Do we need SCIM, or is single sign-on enough?

    Single sign-on on its own works well, and accounts are created as people sign in. Add SCIM if you want accounts set up ahead of time and kept in sync with your directory.

  • Can people outside our directory still use Clearooms?

    Yes. Contractors or anyone not in Entra ID can be set up to sign in with a password instead.

  • What if Microsoft sign-in has a problem?

    Administrators can still get in through a separate emergency login, so a sign-in issue never locks you out of Clearooms.

  • Does it work with Outlook and Teams too?

    Yes. Clearooms also syncs Outlook room calendars and has an app for Microsoft Teams, so the whole Microsoft 365 experience joins up.

  • Still on on-premises Active Directory?

    Clearooms also works with Microsoft AD FS, so you can offer single sign-on while Active Directory stays on-premises.
