Optimising Office Space for a Hybrid Work Future

As the UK’s leading HIV and sexual wellness charity, Terrance Higgins Trust (THT) support people living with HIV and help the people using their services to achieve good sexual health.

With a 260 strong team, THT used to have 9,000 square feet of office space that could accommodate the entire team every day of the week. Like many others, the Covid-19 pandemic instantly meant that their large office space was empty and the likelihood that the entire team would return to office-based working full-time was very much in doubt.

As a charity that needs to ensure that every penny is spent wisely, THT quickly realised that as hybrid working became the norm, their office space was going to be too big for their needs. However, there was a requirement to balance a reduction in office space with a need to accommodate peak days, ensuring that everyone who was travelling to be in the office was sure to find a desk when they got there.

“The team love that they can guarantee a workspace before going to the time and expense of travelling to the office. There’s even a booking space for the dog-bed, meaning those with canine companions can ensure there is space for their pet too. Whilst we haven’t got vast amounts of data about how Clearooms has help us to be more efficient, the fact it has been integrated into our day-to-day work lives so easily is a testament to the Clearooms team.”

Clare continues; “In a previous role I worked in software development, so I know how difficult it can be to build software that is so simple but effective. We did have a demo call with Tony, but in truth I think we could have worked it out without a demo because it’s so intuitive.”
